After a highly competitive Olympic-style bid process against dozens of other cities, ESPN announced in July 2013 that Austin and Circuit of the Americas will be the new home for X Games from 2014-2017. X Games says farewell to Los Angeles after an 11-year run and makes its epic debut at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, June 5-8, 2014.

X Games Austin will feature the world’s greatest extreme athletes as they compete on action sports’ ultimate stage, taking the X Games experience to a whole new level. For four days, Austin will rock with ridiculous athletic talent and a killer lineup of musicians and hands-on experiences (so bring your board)! The majority of competitions will be held at COTA, with the remainder staged downtown.

Circuit of the Americas (COTA), a 1,500-acre+ sports and entertainment venue located just 20 minutes from downtown Austin, is an ideal backdrop for X Games Austin. COTA’s world-class facility was specifically designed to host a variety of large-scale events, including Formula 1® racing, live music, and more. COTA is also home to Austin360 Amphitheater, an expansive outdoor music venue that can hold 14,000 fans and will host X Music throughout the four-day Games.

ESPN launched the inaugural X Games in 1995 and every year, the Games evolve and continue to set the standard for action sports.
